Zeca Pagodinho, Brazil’s biggest samba and MPB star with 4 Latin Grammys under his belt, will be performing all his greatest hits from the ’80s to present day, for a rare date in Paris on September 30th.
His humble history began with playing the local roda de sambas in his local Rio barrio in the ’70s. Fast-forward four decades and his music literally embodies the free and easy-going Carioca spirit known around the world. His 1986 debut and self-titled album sold over 1 million copies and catapulted him into early adulthood stardom and the rest is pretty much history for anybody remotely interested in Brazilian music.
He radiates professionalism in everything he does and no surprise that over the years he’s collaborated with so many stars of Brazilian music including in no particular order Caetano Veloso, Maria Monte, Gilberto Gil, Jorge Ben Jor, Martinho Da Vila, Maria Bethania, Roberto Sa – the list goes on.
Zeca was a major highlight at the last Rio Olympics and has played a show in Rio to an audience of over 1 million people!
